Aquamation
At Cascade Cremation & Burial, we provide on-site, aqua cremation services at no additional cost. Aqua cremation, or aquamation, is a gentle process that uses water instead of fire to return our bodies to mother nature.
The process known scientifically as alkaline hydrolysis uses a water solution and heat to reduce the body to its most basic element of calcium. The remains are then processed and returned to the family in the chosen urn-similiar to flame cremation.
Aquamation is 90% more energy efficient and does not emit carbon or mercury into the air as with traditional cremation.
