Shirley Jean Banion

Shirley Jean Banion (77) died peacefully at her home of natural causes on July 26th, 2023. Shirley was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and devoted servant of the Lord. She was born on June 8th, 1946 to Eldin and Jean Beiswenger in Crookston, Minnesota. She was baptized on July 7th, 1946 and confirmed on May 8th, 1960.

In 1968, Shirley graduated from Bemidji State College with a Bachelor of Science. She then went on to teach for several years before meeting her husband Bill Banion in California. They were married on September 10th, 1969 in Santa Monica, California. In 1970 Shirley gave birth to her first and only child, Michelle Banion. In 1981 she moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon with her family where she spent the remainder of her life working as a bookkeeper for several local businesses as well as for Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed worshiping the Lord, listening to music and watching movies, spending time with family and playing card games. Shirley was

predeceased by husband Bill Banion, parents Eldin and Jean Beiswenger, and sister Ann Banion. She is survived by her daughter Michelle Banion, granddaughter Megan Cummings, sister Joyce Cornutt and brother Craig Beiswenger, nephews Brad, Jared & Josh. Shirley’s memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church 1025 High St. Klamath Falls, OR 97601 on August 26th , 2023 at 2 pm. Any flowers may please be sent to Zion Lutheran Church.
