Sandra Anderson

Sandra Anderson, 75, passed away at her home in Klamath Falls, Ore. on July 12, 2022. Sandra was born July 15, 1946 to George Warren Thomas and Naomi Porter Thomas. in Saint Louis, Missouri and at a young age moved to Memphis Tennessee with her family. At the age of 20 she was attending Memphis State University where she met the love of her life, James Anderson, and they married the following year. Jim and Sandy were married 56 years and enjoyed a beautiful life and friendship together. During their marriage Sandy became a Registered Nurse and worked many years in the ICU, taking care of critical patients. She had an incredible artistic talent and eye for design; her home was always a place of color and creativity. Sandy was a homemaker, artist, nurse, mother, wife, and friend. After Jim retired, Sandy and Jim took off for a final adventure and moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon to be closer to some of their family and grandchildren. Sandra retired from nursing in Klamath Falls, Oregon from Skylakes Medical Center. Sandra was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities, wherever she was needed. Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Kirk Anderson. She leaves behind her eternal companion and best friend, Jim Anderson, their son Christopher Anderson (and his wife Trista Anderson) and daughter Amy Hempel (and her husband Eric Hempel), and her grandchildren Brooke Young, Arin Anderson, Tara Anderson, Lauren Hempel, and Corbin Hempel. She also leaves her beloved brother, Ron Thomas (and his husband Larry Monner), who she always admired and held dear. A memorial service will be at 11am on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Home and Martin Chapel, 501 Martin St. in Klamath Falls.
