We always had to tell everyone, "Yes, his name is just the letter J" He was named after his father's brother J D Gandee and that is who raised him as well. He graduated from Ukiah High with the class of 53'
J passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Klamath Falls, Oregon, however we’re grateful his grandson was with him in his final moments.
Do you remember the milkman?
If you do it was probably my dad. He worked for Pleasant View Dairy from 1946 - 1980 delivering milk to homes throughout Ukiah. In 1980 he went to work full time for Mendocino Van and Storage driving/moving families cross country in his semi-truck until his retirement at 72.
He loved bingo, cribbage, cards and casinos and the Elks. He recently became a lifetime member of the elks.
He is survived by his daughter Julee (Grant)
Grandchildren: Dustin(Jessica), Darin(Rachel), Dillon(Lacey) and Drew Great grandchildren: Deven, Alexis, Gigi, Hunter, Krya and Vance. And a son Jared Gandee
Special thank you to: Shelly, Kristina, Jen and Nick for the amazing care and compassion that you provided. You made such a difference in his life.
Predeceased by his sister Cynthia and his best friend Norm Day.
