Frank Faganello peacefully passed away on August 20th, 2023 at Crystal Terrace in Klamath Falls surrounded by loving family members. He was 81 years old.
Frank was born on April 20th, 1942 in Klamath Falls to parents Angelo Faganello and Eva (Henry) Faganello. Frank graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1960 and began his career at Weyerhaeuser Company in Klamath Falls immediately after high school. He spent 37 years of his work history there and retired in 1997. Frank excelled in his career pursuits at Weyerhaeuser and held a number of supervisory and management positions in Klamath Falls, Bly, and Springfield, OR. His final duty was in the Klamath plywood plant until the operations were sold to Collins Products. Since he retired early that wasn’t the end of his work life. He went on to drive log trucks for Darrell Jacobs, Wayne Jacobs, and J&H Brown. He also drove water tender and low-boy for John Richmond and George Lockett during fire season.
Frank married his sweetheart Sandy (Clark) Faganello on January 27, 1962 in a double wedding ceremony with older brother Ron Faganello who married Sandy’s sister Lorraine (Clark) Faganello.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman! He loved hunting, fishing, camping and generally all things outside. Fishing on Upper Klamath in the spring and sometimes early fall – he could be found there! Crappie fishing at Gerber and other “SECRET” places around the state – you bet! He enjoyed dove hunting and grouse hunting in the early fall as a preamble for his real passion which was deer hunting primarily in the Keno Unit. Hunting camp and deer hunting was a ritual that he practiced religiously until a very few years ago. In order to support his hunting passion, he was also a staunch supporter of hunting organizations such as Oregon Hunters Association, Mule Deer Foundation, Unlimited Pheasants, Cal-Ore, OOTA and Ducks Unlimited.
The family truly enjoyed the years spent in Bly and were active in the community there. Frank was a member of the Water Board and he and Sandy were volunteers for the Bly Ambulance Service.
Frank and Sandy also enjoyed trips to Reno for Keno tournaments and the opportunity for fun and relaxation that are the essence of the entertainment hub that Reno has become. Several New Years Eve celebrations were held there with family and friends and are the stuff of very happy memories.
At family gatherings or weekend “let’s play cards” nights Frank enjoyed hours of dealer’s choice games for nickel, dime, quarter bets. There would always be a groan from the players when it was Frank’s turn to deal because the man ALWAYS played 7 card stud poker. The game became known as “Seven Card Franky” and will continue to be that way as long as we keep playing.
Suffice it to say that Frank was an outgoing, witty and often mischievous father, brother, friend and acquaintance. He is remembered by many and will be greatly missed by those of us who held him close. He joins his parents, brother Ron, daughter Denise and many friends and family who have gone before. You are gone from here Frank but you will not be forgotten as you live on in those of us who knew and loved you. Rest in peace Frank.
Instead of a memorial service there will be a celebration of life to be scheduled at a later date.
