Chloe Hestorff

May 12, 1943 — December 5, 2024

In great peace and joyful anticipation, Chloe Eileen Brent Hestorff, Age 81, of Klamath Falls, Oregon, went to be with her heavenly Father on December 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Chloe, the oldest of 3 children, and the daughter of James Alexander Brent and Catherine Chloe Scott Brent, was born May 12, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Webster Groves High School in 1961, then went on to complete her degree in Dental Hygiene from Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California in 1964.

Chloe was married to Phillip Norman Baxter from 1967 to 1972 and enjoyed the birth of a baby girl, Rebecca Anne Diskin. Then Chloe married Robert Denman Hestorff (1975 to 1998), welcoming another baby girl, Catherine Dorothea Cook. Upon marrying Robert, she was blessed to add his three children, Timothy Robert Hestorff, Anna Kristen Heaney, and Matthew Sam Hestorff. Her final spouse was Franklin Avery Hopkins from 2001 to 2017. Her spouses all preceded her in death.

Chloe worked as a Dental Hygienist in California from 1964 to 1982. She was a homemaker, supported a husband who was a busy doctor, and volunteered in many capacities. Her volunteer work included assisting at multiple pregnancy hope centers, teaching a Christian radio broadcast to women, leading children and teen Sunday school and youth group, helping with Children's Evangelism Fellowship and VBS, leading a singles bible study group, piloting a group to bring a new Christian radio tower to Grand Forks, ND, and being the head of the Tourette Syndrome Association for the entire state of North Dakota. She joined her husband Robert on a medical mission to Ukraine, headed the women's ministry at her church in Grand Forks, and was the head of the prayer chain. She made an immense personal difference in the lives of so many individuals she served.

Chloe had many hobbies. Among them were building puzzles, reading, walking, hiking, canoeing, bird watching, cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, gardening, traveling, genealogy, dogs, and wildflower identification.

Chloe's journey can best be summed up by her love of Jesus. It touched every facet of her life and emanated from her by her generosity, humility, and servanthood to every person she came in contact with. The love of God's Spirit radiated from her eyes and her gentle smile. To know Chloe was to experience this love and to witness her reliance on Jesus in every aspect of her life. Chloe's deepest desire was for people to know Jesus in a personal relationship. She believed the truth of scripture that whoever comes to Jesus will not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16, John 14:6). Her favorite scriptures as she walked through her journey here on the earth were 2 Corinthians 12:9 and Philippians 4:6-7. For those remaining here on earth after her passing, she would fervently pray that you would humbly give your heart to Jesus, who loves you more than you can ever fathom and longs to draw you into his loving embrace. For those who know the love of Jesus, she would pray that you walk in sweet communion with Him and enjoy His word and fellowship. On Chloe's deathbed, she was at peace and was so joyful to be heavenbound.
