Longtime Klamath Falls resident Betty Lou Nork, 81, passed away at her home in Klamath Falls. Betty was born Aug. 26, 1940 in Indiahoma, Ok., to Hiram and Myrtice (Lambert) Prince. She moved to Klamath Falls at the age of 2. Betty married Victor J. Nork, Jr. in Sparks, Nev. on April 6, 1958. She worked as variety Manager and Cashier for Sherm’s ThunderBird Market for over 30 years. Betty enjoyed painting and was involved with the Church of Christ and New Horizon Christian Fellowship. Betty's faith never wavered and is a virtue she instilled in her children and grandson. Betty was very family orientated and always enjoyed time with her family, and will be remembered happily for her giggling conversations and reminiscing with all of her sisters, well into their adult years, treasuring her most recent visits with her sister, Della Jane. Betty, also, loved to sing and play guitar, and enjoyed singing along with her sisters and brother in law, Bill, at an occasional "hootin' nanny" at the Mattox home, she may have even been coaxed to sing with the band at a family reunion, with her favorite band song being Okie from Muskogee. Betty, along with Vic, supported their children in all of their interest and enjoyed attending the many sporting events, band and choir concerts, or whatever their children brought their way. Betty became a Grandma in 1986, on her Birthday, and took great pride in her Grandson, Michel. With Betty and Vic taking their Grandson on many adventures, and teaching as much as they could. Betty also enjoyed her many nieces and nephews and really treasured any project that she could do with them, weather painting or drawing or making Christmas ornaments. Betty, along with Vic, taught their children how to live and work with integrity, and Betty instilled that further when she went to work full time to support her family, when Vic became disabled. Betty also taught her family the value of love and of family weather the bond was by blood or by heart. All friends and family were always welcomed at The Nork's. and Betty, somehow always had made enough food to fill everyone that might stop in, no matter what time of day. Betty suffered from dementia, for many years, with much of her memory leaving her, Betty still remembered family and blessed us all with her happy, cheerful outlook, and could still share a good laugh.
