Betty Jean Peery McLeod Betty was born in Sacramento, CA, January 21, 1930 to Dolly May Coger and Harvey Peery, both of whom died when she was 17. She was raised in Springfield, Portland, and Klamath Falls, attending various schools including Mills, Altamont and Klamath Union. She graduated from Modoc High school in Alturas, California. Betty worked while attending high school at the old Newberry Store and Klamath Falls Creamery. She later was a teller for First Federal Bank and worked with her husband, Ralph (Bud) McLeod, at Aladdin’s Valley Rental. She then sold real estate for her dear friend, Gayle Nicholson at ERA until retiring in 1998. Betty loved Homemaking, working in her yard and traveling to see her children in Las Vegas. Her delight was baking pies for her family, friends and neighbors. Her greatest pleasure was her four grandchildren and daughters, Shelley and Shawnee. She leaves behind her shadow, Rolo. She is survived by daughters, Shelley McLeod, Shawnee Hinshaw, son-in-law Duane Hinshaw, grandson Michael McLeod and Jamie Dillavou of Klamath Falls, grandson James Palmeri and wife Malinee, grandson Will Bennett and grandaughter Holly Bennett all of Las Vegas. Betty was preceded in death by two husbands, Alfred Anderson and Ralph McLeod and five sisters and two brothers. Bernice Ketchum, Ola Gregory, Virgil Upham, Pearl Griffin, Jessie Peery, Merle Peery and Bill Peery. She leaves behind her dear friend Joe Sekora his loving family and her very special lifelong friends, Martha and Norman Rose. Kind and thoughtful neighbors surrounded her. Chet and Karen, Jim and Rhonda, Russ and Sarah and her postal lady Kay. Betty was a wonderful mother and Gram. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
