Bertra Bratton

Bertra M. Bratton, 88, passed away at her home in Klamath Falls on Feb. 22, 2023.

Bertra was born Jan. 19, 1935 in Alsen, South Dakota, one of three children to Bertil and Vesta (Larsen) Shogren. The family moved to Malin when Bertra was 5; she spent her childhood there until moving in to Klamath Falls in 1952. Bertra married Hubert Bratton in Klamath Falls on July 18, 1954. She worked for 25 years as a secretary for the Klamath Falls City School District. Bertra enjoyed her family including doing genealogy research, music, sewing, travel and serving at her church, Peace Memorial Presbyterian.

Survivors include her daughter, Kristine Beck and her husband Charlie of Bend; sons, William Bratton and his wife Sally of Klamath Falls, Robert Bratton of Klamath Falls; brother, Laurence Shogren of Klamath Falls; sister, Rebecca Brown and her husband Chris of Bend; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Bertra was preceded in death by her husband, son Jeffrey Bratton and grandson Robert “Robbie” Bratton.

Private interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
