Joan Gail Gooley

June 2, 1939 — August 4, 2024

Joan "Gail" Gooley, born in Wilmar, CA on June 2, 1939, passed away peacefully in her home on August 4, 2024. Gail was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, who raised two wonderful daughters, Joyce and Jan, with her husband, Jim in Cherry Valley, CA. Gail had a passion for life that was as vibrant as her love for horses and horseback riding, gardening, and sewing. The running joke in the family was that while she never quite finished a sewing project, she always started them with enthusiasm and joy. She found her greatest happiness in the outdoors, whether on trips to the river with the jet skis, to the mountains to ride horses, yard work, or simply sitting on her back deck swing enjoying the evening breeze. In 2008, after separating from her husband, Gail moved to Oregon to begin a new chapter in her life. It was there that she truly discovered herself. She found new friends, rediscovered her faith in God, and rebuilt her life with resilience and strength, becoming the strongest woman we all had the privilege to know. Gail is survived by her brother Ronnie, her daughter Joyce, her daughter Jan and her husband Lennie, her granddaughter Alyssa and her husband Jason, and her two great-grandchildren Delilah and Xander. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, her mother Gwynne, and her father Ray. Words cannot truly describe the depth of our loss. Gail's spirit, warmth, and love will forever remain in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to Heart of Hospice, serving Bristol Hospice patients, in Gail's memory. Rest in peace-You will always be loved and missed.
